Royal Ballet Workshop January 2023

Today we were lucky enough to be visited by Royal Opera House Dance Artists and their live music accompaniment who led a creative ballet workshop based around the story of Swan Lake and its characters. They were really impressed by the concentration and effort shown by all the children and can't wait to come back and work with Hayfield Lane again as part of their Chance to Dance ballet programme!

Christmas at Hayfield Lane

The staff surprised the children by dressing up as elves and other Christmas themed characters. The children were greeted with a huge snow machine as they came into school and they enjoyed many activities throughout the day. We had giant 'total wipeout' and many fair rides for the children to enjoy throughout the day. Santa's reindeers also came to visit and we learnt all about them and how they fly to our houses on Christmas eve.

Today we were active in our maths lesson comparing and ordering numbers as a human number line!

To help us image how it would feel to be Robin Hood facing the guards, we made swords and took part in a great battle!

Robin Hood Day - to launch our topic Robin Hood we all became part of his band of Merry Men!
