On Friday we enjoy exploring and tasting new foods. As part of this we are able to bring in many aspects of the curriculum. We encourage the children to talk about the smell, what they can see and feel as well as taste. We talk about where the different foods come from and look at these on the world map and where it is in relation to the UK. While preparing the food for tasting with the children we talk about part, part, whole as this introduces the concept in a practical way. We then talk about likes and dislikes and make connections to previous foods tasted.
