Home Learning Expectations

Reading

In Year 1 Nightingales, the children are expected to read at least five times a week. Please remember to sign their reading planner each time they have read. They do not have to read the book that they bring home from school for each time you sign their planner. They are allowed to read books from home, books on Bug Club, etc. If the child has their planner signed, they will receive a date signed (by the teaching staff) on their bookmark. Every time they get three signs on their bookmark, they are allowed to move up one step on the reward tower. When they reach number ten on the reward tower, they can pick a prize. The prizes are amazing and the children have been working so hard to achieve them.

Keep up the good work! smiley

Weekly Homework

In their homework books, the children have a homework sheet that has activities on them. Each week, the children must complete an activity to hand in to the teacher to be marked. Each activity must be completed on a new page with the long date and the activity number at the top of each page. The homework must be completed in pencil (NOT PEN!!) and must be neatly presented. If the homework is not completed to a good standard or not completed at all, then certain children may be asked to complete it or redo it during a playtime.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge well done to the children who have completed the "Timeline Activity - Activity 6". I am blown away by the effort that has been put into this particular activity and have enjoyed looking at them.
