Welcome to Kingfisher Class!
In Year 2, Miss Ng is our teacher and Mrs Harris and Mrs Muxlow work with us too.
We work very hard in Year 2 to learn lots of different skills. It is fast-paced and always busy in our classroom.
As usual, Year 2 have been hectic and busy with their learning. We have been immersed in our new novel, the “Night Shimmy”, written by one of our favourite author’s, Anthony Browne. We’ve transformed part of our classroom into Eric’s bedroom and the park.
We also have a brand new books and a book-shelf. We love having time to go and sit and read in our new novel study area.
Year 2 have been working extra hard this month (May), preparing for and taking their end of Key Stage tests. Each and every one of the children in Year 2 have tried their best and kept a positive and “Can-Do” attitude. All the staff at Hayfield Lane Primary are very proud of these marvellous children.
Keep up the hard work Kingfishers!
Reading
Please try to read five times a week and remember that an adult needs to sign the ‘Reading Record Book’. When a child has had their ‘Reading Record Book’ signed, Miss Ng will sign their bookmark (please do not write on the bookmarks). When there are three dates (from Miss Ng) on the bookmark, they will get to move up one step on the ‘Reward Tower’. When they reach the top, they will get a reward.
P.E. (Physical Education)
We will be doing P.E. on Monday and Friday afternoons. The children can bring their P.E. kits into school and leave it on their peg. Their P.E. kits must consist of black shorts, white t-shirt, white socks and black pumps or trainers. Earrings must be covered up with plasters or removed. The children are allowed to remove their own earrings if they feel comfortable to do so.
