Important Dates

Tuesday 6th March - Key Stage 1 Multi-skills Event

Year 1 will be taking part in a multi-skills event run by Active Fusion. This event will take place in school in the morning. The children do not need to do or bring anything other than their indoor P.E. kits (which they should have in school already).

Friday 2nd March - World Book Day, 2018 (rescheduled - Friday 9th March)

Don't forget that we will be celebrating "World Book Day" on Friday 2nd March, 2018. We will be having a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" theme at school, and there will be lots of fun activities planned.

Your child can come to school dressed as a character from a book (they can stay in the costume all day) and there will be a competition for the best costume in each class.

Please don't feel that you have to go and buy a costume for your child, often, the best costumes are the hand-made ones.

Monday 12th March - Mad Science Day, 2018

"Hayfield Lane Science Week" will be happening in the week beginning 12th March and finishing on Friday 16th March. To start the week with a big bang, we will be having a "Mad Science" day on the Monday and will have a company coming into school to work with each class doing fun scientific experiments.  We invite your child to come into school dressed as a scientist (mad or normal) on Monday (they can stay in this costume all day).

Again, please don't feel that you have to go and buy a costume for your child, often, the best costumes are the hand-made ones. Some simple ideas could be to wear a large white shirt (belonging to dad, mum, uncle, grandma, etc.) over a t-shirt to act as a lab-coat, dress as an astronaut, etc.

Wednesday 21st March - Year 1, Ugly Bug Ball

To celebrate all their hard work for their new novel, "The Ugly Bug Ball", Year 1 will be hosting and attending an ugly bug ball at Hayfield Lane Primary School.

Your child can come to school dressed as a mini-beast and will stay in that costume all day.

Again, please don't feel that you have to go and buy a costume for your child, often, the best costumes are the hand-made ones.

They will be taking part in fun mini-beast related activities throughout the day, and will have a disco and party food at the end of the day.
