ENTERPRISE EDUCATION

Each year we hold an Enterprise Week in school where we teach our children about Enterprise by giving them a small budget with which to produce, market and sell their products (at the Summer Fayre). The winning class receives a super treat.

The crucial teaching and learning strands running through these are plotted out through our school progression document so that children are able to build upon previous years.

As part of this week we engage with local businesses and parents who visit the school to discuss their jobs and the skills required for life in the future workplace.

In addition to this we also engage with local businesses throughout the year, linking with our learning journeys. For example we have links with a local diary farmer, Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Cannon Hall Farm, Warburtons, local construction companies, Walkers Garden Centre for landscape designing, police, local artists, dancers and performers, nurses, builders, photographers. In this way our children are able to examine how links are made in real life occupations.

Covid 19 heavily affected our ability to have visitors in classes.
