Teddy Bears Picnic

We spent the week planning and organising a picnic. We wrote lists and invitations to the picnic. We followed a recipe to make flapjack. We had to collect information to find out what sandwiches everyone wanted for the picnic. 

After all the hard work we got to enjoy the picnic with all our friends and Teddy’s. 

Sports Day

We had a fantastic time taking part in all the challenges on sports day. We had to work together as a team as well as using different physical skills to complete each task. 

Growing and Changing

This half term we are going to be watching our caterpillars grow and change into butterflies. We have also planted some seeds so we can find out how a plant grows. 

The Masked Reader

Nursery children that have been learning at home have taken part in our Masked Read event for World Book day. Can you guess who is behind the masks?

Chinese New Year

We have been learning about the Lunar New Year and how it is celebrated. 

Silent Night

We have been learning Silent Night in Makaton sign language. 

Christmas has arrived in Robin class

This afternoon we have worked together to put up our Christmas tree. We worked collaboratively and problem solved to figure out the best way to cover the tree in baubles. 

Children in Need

This Friday we celebrated Children in Need. We had a non-uniform day to raise money for children who need help. We painted pictures of Pudsey Bear and used cotton buds to make his dots. 

Remembrance 

This week we talked about Remembrance Day and made poppies by printing with potatoes. 

Halloween

This week we have been scooping out pumpkins and designing pumpkin faces with 2D shapes. We decorated our pumpkins for the pumpkin patch. We made ours based on the story ‘Christopher Pumpkin’. 

On Friday we dressed up and had a Halloween party. 

Harvest

This week in nursery we have been learning all about harvest and looking at the fruits and vegetables that are collected at harvest time. We have been on a walk in our school field to look at what grows there and find out how things change during Autumn.
