Our task was named 'Trash to Treasure'. The aim of the week was to design and make a toy prototype using only recyclable materials. The project was broken up into several parts.
Part 1: We looked at a variety of toys already on the market. We considered what materials were used to make them, what the different components were, what the purpose of the toy was and what enjoyment it would give the child.
Part 2: We created initial designs and then a final design of our own toy and labelled it with the recyclable materials we intended to use for each component.
Part 3: We spent time working as a group to make our prototype, adapting and amending it where we required. We also looked back at the criteria for the toy to check if what he had made met the initial criteria.
Part 4: We presented our toy prototype to our parents and carers.
Part 5: We challenged our parents to make a toy out of the left over recyclable materials.
