Maths
In year 5 we aim to help pupils become confident with using and applying all of the fantastic maths they have already learnt in the previous years. They will still use manipulatives (counters, Numicon etc) to help them visualise numbers in a real way, but we move towards a more abstract understanding of number. Over the year we will look at Place Value, fractions, shapes, measures and decimals. We will try to make the maths link to real life where possible so that children make real links for life.
