Class information

On Friday mornings we have PE. We ask that your child brings in a white t-shirt and black shorts, which can be left in a bag on their peg during the week. We currently do PE in the hall, and will let you know when pumps are required as we move outdoors.

Reading Days will vary per child. We will start reading 1:1 with each child in Autumn 2, once the children have a secure amount of sounds learnt. Every Friday, your child must bring their book to school so it can be changed for a fresh book. We encourage your child to keep that book all week so they can develop a flow and  to their reading and develop their comprehension and understanding of the text.

Reading at home is very important and we ask that you do so each night with your child, for short periods of time. They may want to read their own books or books from the online Bug Club and this is good as we want the children to develop a passion for reading.

There is a whole school incentive for children to read 5 times a week - and for us to know the children have achieved this,  their reading record MUST be signed each time they read! If you sign their planner for the 5 sessions that they have read, on a Friday they can take part in Cookie Fridays!

Gold book assembly is on a Friday afternoon - which, if your child is chosen ,you may come along to see their achievement—keep your eyes peeled for a flyer in their bag on a Thursday evening! These assemblies take part in the Key Stage 1 hall and commence at 3pm.

You will from time to time be expected to fill a sheet in for us to complete 'In the Moment Planning' with your child. The information from home really helps us to tailor individualised learning for your child. These sheets will go home roughly once a half term.
