The School Day

Our school day starts at 8:55am and finishes at 3:30pm. 

On Monday and Friday afternoons we have our PE sessions. Please send your child to school dressed in their PE kit.  We recommend that on these days your child comes to school without watches and earrings.  If earrings cannot be removed prior to the session, then please provide plasters or micropore tape that your child can use to cover them with.  We also recommend that your child has a water bottle with them during the day which is clearly labelled with their name. 

Home Learning

Children are expected to read to an adult 5 times a week.  This can be using their school reading book, accessing bug club online, comics, magazines, newspapers or books of their choice.  Please ensure that a couple of these reads each week are using their school book to support your child in school.  Each read should be recorded in your child's reading record and signed by an adult. Every Thursday, the number of reads that your child has completed from the last 7 days will be recorded and rewards given for those that have read 5 times or more.  Please ensure that your child's planner is signed and handed in on a Thursday for the reward to be issued.

Times Tables

We also encourage the children to access Times Table Rockstars as much as possible in preparation for the Year 4 Multiplication check which will take place in the summer term.  The logins will be in your child's reading planner.

Spellings

Each week, your child will bring home a list of spellings.  We encourage you to support your child in learning them.  At the bottom of the page are the Year 1/2 common exception words and the Year 3/4 common exception words that your child should be able to spell by the end of year 4.
