  • Special Days

Here at Hayfield Lane, we want children to feel the magic of childhood, and aim to do this through providing lots of special days and experiences for the children.

Over the course of the year we will update this page with any special experiences we have, we cannot wait to share them with you!

First up was our Halloween dress up day! The children came in spooky outfits or non uniform, and took part in some spooky activities!

In November, we had a fabulous day for Children in Need 2025 with lots of Pudsey themed activities to take part in throughout the day!
We made Pudsey masks, Pudsey out of play dough, put spots on Pudsey, wrote words with Pudsey, and even Pudsey CVC bingo to practice our word reading!
We also enjoyed moving and grooving to Pudsey's super mover song.

We had an AMAZING Christmas event day!
We loved going on the rides, cycling round the track and just having lots of Christmas fun together!

The next day was Christmas Jumper and Christmas dinner day! We all looked very festive, and enjoyed celebrating dinner together after talking about Christmas traditions in the morning.

Our final day of term was Christmas party day!

We all dressed up and had lots of fun celebrating with party games and dancing! We also had a super special visit from an elf who took us to Santa's pop up grotto in school, where we all got a present - how exciting!!

In February, we had a fundraising day for Sheffield Childrens hospital! We all worked something to represent Yorkshire, including ourselves!

    World Book Day!

We had great fun on world book day, dressing up as our favourite characters, talking about our favourite books and immersing ourselves in story!

    Red Nose Day!

We had lots of fun on Red Nose Day, as well as thinking why we have it and how we can help others.
We watched Greg James finish his longest ride and go over the finish line, and we're very impressed with how much he raised by challenging himself - and that there was a red nose at the finish line!!
We drew ourselves with a red nose design, counted and coloured emojis, and made superhero masks to wear, which also linked to our drawing club of Super Ted this week so we loved this activity!
In the afternoon, we made red nose biscuits, mixing icing sugar and food colouring to put on, then adding some jelly tot noses in our favourite colour!

    Beat Scotty Challenge

As part of our fundraising for Sheffield Childrens hospital, we took part in a sponsored beat Scotty's challenge! We had the best time and ran our socks off!

    Easter

We had lots of special times celebrating Easter, including Egg rolling, a visit from the Easter Bunny, Easter crafts, making Easter cakes and our Egg decoration Competition!
