To start our ‘Groovy Gardeners’ week we were very lucky to go and visit Mrs Neal’s amazing garden. We looked at the beautiful flowers and fantastic pond. We were able to ask Mrs Neal lots of questions about the flowers. We also saw lots of insects including butterflies on the flowers, bees collecting pollen and some beautiful dragonflies hovering over the pond. We came back to school with lots of ideas for our garden.
A huge thank to Mrs Neal for letting us visit your garden and the the parents who came to help too.
Wren class have made a class scarecrow to help keep our seeds safe when we plant them. We all stuffed him with lots of stuffing ,we used our Giants mask from Jack and the Beanstalk for his face. We then decided on a name and we voted for Syd. So introducing ‘ Syd the Scarecrow’ made by Wren class.
Our challenge week continues, we have now started to prepare for our visitors to come in and help us. We have now all designed our garden and listened to each other’s ideas, we used amazing teamwork to create our scarecrow who is now fixed in our garden. In our designers we decided that we would like to see some wild flowers, sun flowers and bird feeders in our garden. We also discussed having a pond so we used our imagination and made an amazing pond out of shiny materials . We put some lily pads in it as well as as some frogs and snails we think out make believe pond is pretty amazing.
We also wrote some invitations out to send out to our adults inviting them to come and help us complete our gardening task.
