This term we are looking at traditional tales and we kicked off by looking at the book 'The Jolly Postman', in which a postman delivers lots of different items including letters, postcards and invitations to fairytale characters.
After our Explorer Week (see separate page for pictures), we returned to Drawing Club and our book of the week was Jack and the Beanstalk. We have crafted our own beanstalks, made beanstalks out of play dough, measured beanstalks with cubes and even planted our own beanstalks which we are taking great care of in our classroom. We sorted pictures of farming equipment into past and present and read the book 'Jack's Beanstalk Stinks', which tells the story from the Giants' point of view. We then had a debate about whom the real baddie in the story was and made a 'wanted' poster to help us find him.
This week we have started practising for sports day. All the children did so well getting themselves changed and and really went for it in the races.
