Autumn - Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone

The Swan's had a super time at the 'Harry Potter Studios' in London!

Hi everyone… what a busy week! 😊

In English – the Swans have started reading our class novel... 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' by J.K. Rowling. I have been 'blown' away with the super predictions the pupils have made using the front cover – well done Swans.

Hi everyone!

The Swan's have had a 'terrific' Tuesday - In English, we have started looking at the features of a charatcer description – we have looked at how authors (including J.K Rowling) use figurative language - we really enjoyed identifying examples from the text and discussing the impact on the reader.

In RE - our key question this half-term is: How do Sikhs express their beliefs?

The Swans have been learning all about the 5K's in Sikhism – we have been busy researching what each 5K is – what they represent and why they are important in Sikhism. We had a fab time looking at Sikh 'artefacts'... we even tried on the belts used to hold a Kirpan!

In English, the Swans had a fab round of 'Quiz, Quiz Trade' we recapped different sentences including: simple sentences, compound sentences and complex sentences.

In handwriting - the Swans have been super busy looking at the 'Bridge Family' - I am so impressed with the progress pupils have made!
