We kicked off our topic by reading the book Meerkat Mail.

Science 

We have been learning about the different types of animals and how to classify them. 

There was an extra special visitor in class- A real meerkat! We learnt lots of facts about meerkats and have been using this information to write a report.

Geography 

 

We have studied the world. We can name the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world.

We looked closely at Africa and the habitats meerkats live in. We compared this to Antarctica and the conditions penguins live in.

 

History

 

We have learnt about the history of aviation and some of its pioneers. We studied the Wright brothers, Bessie Coleman, Amy Johnson and Douglas Barder. We visited the Aircraft Museum and saw how aircrafts have evolved over time.
